FAQs

Q: Are the massage therapists at A Touch of Health certified?

A: Yes, they meet all necessary requirements for massage therapists.

Q: How do I schedule a massage appointment?

A: Use the appropriate location Schedule Now button on the left side.

Q: How should I prepare for my massage?

A: Please print out and complete our intake form from our website and present it to your massage therapist upon your first visit.

Q: Do I have to take all my clothes off?

A: Absolutely not. We want you to feel 100% comfortable at all times and will never ask you to do anything you do not want. We also expect you to let us know what makes you comfortable and what does not.

Q: Should I workout before or after my massage?

A: You can workout before your massage but give yourself at least 20 minutes to unwind and cool down.

Q: Should I eat or drink water before my massage?

A: Yes, you can eat a modest meal and drink water at least an hour before your massage. Doing so will keep you feeling comfortable and not bloated during your massage and help prevent interruptions as well.

Q: What is the best plan for my post-massage?

A: Plan nothing after your massage if possible. It is suggested to have a small meal after your massage consisting of a balance of good protein, carbohydrates and fats, and plenty of water. This will optimize the benefits of cleansing all the cells throughout your body, which need a supply of nutrients and water to function properly.

Q: How often should I receive a massage?

A: Each individual is unique and many factors are involved with the frequency of needed massage. Factors such as current stress level play an impacting role. Our therapists will kindly assist you after they understand your personal concerns. You will notice the cumulative benefits of regular and frequent massage.

Q: What types of payments do you accept?

A: Cash, check, Visa or Mastercard.

Q. Do you accept health insurance?

A. No, but we can provide a CPT code form for you to submit to your flexible spending account.

Q: What happens if I show up a few minutes late to my scheduled massage appointment?

A: If we do not have a client immediately following your scheduled appointment, or the therapist does not have other obligations, we will try to accommodate your entire scheduled session. As a courtesy to our clients and therapists, all appointments begin and end on time.

Q: What happens if I miss my massage appointment?

A: Without at least 24-hour notice from you regarding an appointment you cannot keep, we will expect the total payment from you. Your scheduled appointment is part of our weekly income. We appreciate your understanding.

Q: What should I do if I cannot keep a massage appointment?

A: We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. You will not be responsible for payment if you cancel your scheduled appointment at least 24 hours from the appointment start time.

Q: What should I do in the event of inclement weather?

A: Use your best judgment regarding your travel safety. However, please keep our office informed of your intentions. If you must miss your appointment we will reschedule it as soon as possible.

Q: Do you sell gift certificates?

A: Yes. You can purchase gift certificates for all of our services.

Q: How long are your gift certificates good for?

A: We ask that you redeem them within six months of purchase date.

Q: If I received a gift certificate can I redeem them for a cash equivalent?

A: No, but you can offer it to a family member of friend to use instead.

Q: Could I join your email list?

A: Of course, we would enjoy sending you massage information as well as discount offers. Please know we will not inundate you with our emails and we do not provide your contact information to anyone. Please feel free to follow A Touch of Health on Facebook and Twitter as well.

Q: Why do you need my contact information?

A: We need your information in the rare event that a therapist would need to cancel or reschedule your appointment; he or she will have access to it.

Q: Can I tip my massage therapist?

A: Of course, we graciously accept gratuity, 15% to 20% is an industry standard.

Q. Is there a way I can give you feedback on my recent massage?

A. Yes, please fill out our Client Survey.
